This great working Sony VCR came from the working home theater of the adult original owner (smoke-less/child-less environment)

TESTING:

Prior to listing we connected this to our home theater system (receiver, speakers, etc) and loaded several different store bought pre-recorded video tapes. All played fine. We tested the record function with a blank tape and it worked fine

With the remote control we tested the playback and record functions and they worked fine

COSMETICALLY:

This unit is in nice condition with only the usual scuffing on the top from being moved around.

MANUFACTURER’S DESCRIPTION

The Sony SLV-N51 four-head hi-fi VCR satisfies your recording and playback needs, offering such features as commercial skip, which automatically advances the tape 30 seconds when activated; flash rewind, which offers a complete rewind of a T-120 tape in a mere 60 seconds; and instant replay, which skips back a few seconds to replay a compelling scene or bit of dialogue. The device also employs a plug-and-play setup, so users can be up and running in mere moments (the channels and clock tune automatically). Video performance is enhanced by the dual azimuth four-head recording and playback, which enables two speeds for SP mode and two speeds for EP mode. The slower EP mode is nearly as sharp as the SP mode due to the 19-micron heads, which reduce distortion and deliver a clear, digital-like picture.

Users will appreciate the convenient multilingual onscreen display; the crystal-clear freeze frame, frame advance, and search modes; and the index scan, which helps locate a specific program on a tape without fuss. As opposed to VCR\'s with manual tracking, the SLV-N51 includes sophisticated digital auto tracking adjustment that smoothes playback. The VCR also employs an eight-event timer, auto head cleaning, a parental lock feature, and front AV inputs for connecting to a camcorder or game system. In addition, the SLV-N51 is Energy Star compliant.

QUALITY PACKING: All items arewrapped inseverallayersof bubble wrap and placed in anoversized box that is double lined on the side panels so there areseveralinches of packing material and strongstyrofoam supports between the item and the outside of the box. Thismeans the item will not move within the box nor should it ever touch theoutside of the box, where damage can occur. This adds weight anddimension to the item. I am assuming that 99.9% of people who buysomething with their hard-earned money expect the item to arrive safely and inworking condition, so that is my goal. I do not go cheap just to make a saleand pray it arrives safely. I know how FedEx and USPS handle packages. Whether the seller states \"free shipping\" or a flat shippingamount ($10 or whatever), the fact is they will pay what FedEx and USPS chargesthem for the package weight/dimensions/distance, and so will you... rolled intothe asking price.
