These two components wrestle radio signals to the ground and hold them for your amplifier. Each tuner flexes slightly different muscles. Lesser electronics are no match for these grapplers of the airwaves.The Sony ST-S700ES abhors noise. In fact, this AM/FM stereo tuner delivers about the best signal-to-noise ratio on the market. I gave it to an engineer at a major radio station to test; a week later he apologized for not providing test results because none of his professional testing equipment was as good as this Sony tuner.The ST-S700ES reproduces the signal (that is, the radio station to which you want to listen) a whopping 91 decibels above the noise in stereo. The average tuner ranges between 75 and 80 db. You`ll quickly realize after purchasing this Sony tuner that most radio stations rarely get above 75 db in signal-to-noise ratio on the transmission end.Actually, many old-fashioned analog tuners of a decade ago offered better signal-to-noise ratios than the spiffy digital tuners of today. The digital tuning circuitry tends to induce noise. Sony figured out a way around this with its ``direct comparator`` circuit.Most digital tuners operate by comparing an internally generated frequency with the incoming radio frequency. If this internal signal is too low in frequency in comparison with the radio signal, some of it becomes audible in the form of noise. Sony raises the internal frequency to about the same as the radio frequency, thus making a ``direct comparison`` and eliminating the noise. (This system is not to be confused with the``intermediate frequency`` oscillator used by virtually all tuners.) Sony also includes a few other fancy circuits for lowering distortion.The 19-button front panel is pretty simple for a contemporary tuner. Ten of those buttons recall memorized radio stations. The ST-S700ES tips the scale lightly in both weight and price: 10 pounds for $400. (in 1988 dollars)

I use the shipping application - this tool computes the fees based on my Zip and your Zip, and the provided weight and dimensions. Your registered address will be accessed by the shipping tool and used to generate shipping labels.
Note: If your registered /Paypal address is WRONG - the item will be shipped to the registered address you have on record. The responsibility of the BUYER is to ensure their address information is correct at all times to prevent shipping issues and significant delays.
If there is a difference between the shipping costs paid by the BUYER and the shipping cost provided by the shipping tool - a refund via PAYPAL will be sent to the BUYER.
