This is a very rare coat. There were not many Paymasters thus not many of these coats exist. In 1869 the regulations changed to add branch colors underneath the gold braid, Paymaster was white. The branch color I believe stayed until just before WW 1. The Pay Corps was changed to the Supply Corps in 1919.The coat has 9 buttons which I believe was reduced in 1912.I\'m dating this jacket between the Span Am War and 1912. The coat is in excellent shape with some minor stains on the inner sleeve lining. The belt is also in very good shape. I had epaulettes on it for my display, but they were line, so not accurate for this coat.
