Staghorn Fern is a fern that has fronds that are shaped like the antlers of a deer! These wonderful tropical plants are epiphytes (needing no soil to grow) making them perfect for mounting on an old board, plaque, piece of driftwood or a slatted orchid basket. They are slow growers by nature but can get quite large over time. You will get numerous \"pups\" that grow from the mother plant that can be split off to start more plants. Here in Florida it\'s not unusual to see large staghorn ferns growing in baskets under oak trees. My first sight of these magnificent plants was unforgettable! I immediately set about finding my own and now it\'s a staple plant in our nursery. They are relatively easy to grow needing only indirect filtered light and once a week waterings to thrive. Protect from freezing. Water about once a week and throw your banana peels in the pot as they love the potassium. They are truly aamazingand unusual plant that will be sure to delight all who see it!
