**A little bit of Micki history for those who are interested:
This beloved and well known (at least in Europe) hedgehog was first designed in Germany in 1940 by the artist Ferdinand Diehl. She became much more famous in the early 1950\'s with her regular appearance on the German TV magazine HORZU. The Diehl Film company from Munich granted Steiff the licensing rights to produce the dolls in 1951, and they have been a mainstay in the line to this day.
The spiky tipped mohair that has been used for Mucki\'s hair over the years hasn\'t changed, and is almost identical to the spiked mohair used on most other mohair Steiff hedgehogs, even today.
I am excited to offer this rare miniature Mucki doll produced by Steiff with only one EAN (8709,80) between 1961 and 1964. That means that this little gal is at least 50 years old!
You may have seen the larger sized Mucki doll and realize that this one (only 4 inches tall) is an awesome find.
The Steiff sortiment describes this doll as follows: Head & Body plastic, flexible body, copyr. Diehl-Film
Mucki stands at approx 4 inches tall and approx 3 ½ inches wide (arm span). Her outfit is in very good vintage condition (the stained patches on the apron were made intentionally by Steiff to give her an aged look). Her linen tag which displays her EAN is attached to her shirt andPatent information on the bottom of the shoes
**Please note: There is a small openings at the tip of each of Mucki’s fingers (see close-up pics) but they are only noticeable upon close inspection and do not detract at all from her charms!
Finding one of the earliest miniature models of Mucki in this condition is rare and she can be yours today!
