Very good condition and guaranteed original Swiss Model 1878Vetterli Pioneer sawback bayonet. Maker marked “SJ.G. NEUHAUSEN” on the rightside blade ricasso. Blade has original bright finish with some gray spots ofpitting. Saw teeth are sharp and crisp. Remaining metal finish is originalbright with some scattered gray and pitting. Checkered hard rubber grips areheld by four rivets and have a good tight fit with some normal handling marks,no damage. Lock button and leaf spring function fine. Fitted in correctoriginal leather scabbard that has steel throat and tip. Leather is soft andsupple with some normal wear, stitching and rivets are nice and tight. A goodexample of a scarce Swiss Vetterli sawback bayonet for your collection.
