about fungilabs
We started in 1993 cultivating and studying many kinds of mushroom species. We later transformed to a local home grown distributor of gourmet mushrooms. We supplied fresh mushrooms, powdered mushrooms, and mushroom flavored oils, in addition to kits for home growing. We marketed towards restaurants, supermarkets, health food stores, farmers markets, and through fairs and flower shows. After several years of cultivating, in 2004 we thought we would share our experience and knowledge to the online community by offering quality mushroom growing kits. Our goal is to provide the best products with the greatest service possible. We strive to provide a high quality product at a low price. We at Fungilabs believe studying mushrooms can be a fun educational hobby and yet affordable. This kit requires at least a 10cc spore syringe. we recommend searching online for your favorite spore supplier.
This kit utilizes a substrate bag which lets you grow many more species of mushrooms than the kits with the jars.
Overview of process
Inject spore syringe solution into bag, wait 8-14 days for bag to fully colonize,
spread bag contents into fruiting chamber and cover with supplied casing mix,
between 4-7 days mushrooms will appear and you will have the biggest smile on your face.
The importance of a Humidifier
When mushrooms are fruiting in a growing chamber they release Carbon dioxide (Co2), like any other living organism, eventually overtime there will be a build up of Co2 in the growing chamber that is unhealthy for the mushrooms and cause premature growth, skinny fragile stems, and poor flushes(less and smaller mushrooms). Co2 is heavier than oxygen an as a result the Co2 falls and collects in the bottom of the growing chamber where the mushrooms are fruiting. When pumping Oxygen into the grow chamber it does some air exchange but it also condenses the Co2 at the bottom of the grow chamber and depletes the mushrooms from their essential nutrients such as calcium and sulfur. However when pumping Humid air from a humidifier into your grow chamber the heavy moisten air absorbs the Co2 and breaks down its particles and forms more condensation and greater air exchange. When Using only pumps with out a humidifier you are sacrificing the potential size, yield, and flushes of your mushrooms. Fortunately our kit comes with a humidifier and we will teach you a special technique that is simple and yet very effective in delivering complete fresh air exchange into your growing chamber. Our technique only requires three minutes of your time a day. It makes other kits obsolete and your mushrooms will love you for it.
