Mind you I am not a bayonet expert, but this is my understanding, condensed: This is a 16\" Model 1905 bayonet, designed for the 1903, \'03A3 and Garand
rifles, manufactured in 1943 by Utica Cutlery, when the US required more
bayonets, and Utica Cutlery made a batch of them.
The US Gov\'t then decided that we did not need a 16\" bayonet, and went with
a 10\" instead. At that time, most of the 16\" bayonets were cut down to 10\", and
orders were placed for new 10\" bayonets. This bayonet has been housed in a USN Mk1 marked scabard, and for well over
35 years. Markings are: U C over U [ordnance bomb] S. The bayonet and scabbard are in excellent to excellent + condition. The blade
has never had an edge put on it. The scabard belt clips are not bent or damaged.[Due to some buyers waiting too many days to pay, I must ask that payment be
