Here we have a terrific United States Naval dress sword featuring the original case, leather and gilded scabbard, etched blade and engraved identification. The sword is in excellent condition with it\'s finely etched blade identified to O.E. Christofersen and featuring an eagle, shields, anchors, flags and various decorative devices. Gilding is excellent throughout. The leather scabbard is in very goodcondition with just a couple ofsmall dings and scrapes.The leather case is in fair condition with the stitching coming apart in several areas andware to the right strap. Original gold sword knot has some fraying. Measures 36\" long unsheathed.Case is marked Hilborn Hamburger Inc., Vitalon and O.E.C., U.S.N. A very nice example.
