This Uhl pottery jug ispart of the Acorn Wares line done in Huntingburg, Indiana. Uhl Pottery Co. moved from Evansville, Indiana, where it was founded in 1854, to Huntingburg in 1908. TheAcornWare linewas produced until the 1940s. This jug is in really good shape to be over 70 years old. It has some fair sizedchips along the protruding \"shoulder\" line (4) andlite crazing in theglaze on the top, and alittle chip on the bottom, but no holes or cracks.

I haven\'t washed or cleaned the jugand don\'t know its contents before I got it at an estate sale.

This jug is heavy,over 20 lbs., without boxes orpadding, so shipping will be expensive.

I could offer free shipping, but would have to increase the starting offer to cover what I would estimate to be the shipping costs and since I am not in this for philanthropy, I would have to guess high. It is just cleaner to charge for shipping. While I do combine shipping, there won\'t be the huge savings as some seem to think, but I will do my best. charges me a final value fee, not only for the item, but for the postage, too, so it would be ridiculous to gouge on postage charges! I don\'t routinely do UPS but I will, but for large and/or heavy pieces.
