Good sound condition Model 1840 Type Cavalry Sabre, completely unmarked, likely a Solingen product, heavy, robust flat back blade with wide and narrow fullers, 1 1/4 inches wide at the hilt, 35 1/2 inches long, smooth grey patina, no pitting or chips out of the edge. Heavy scabbard mostly age brown over all. Uncleaned brass hilt with dark patina, grip is missing the leather and most of the wire wrap, appears to have been this way for a long time. Tang has not been hammered on, hilt is tigh and retains the original buff leather washer. A good example, buyer adds $20.00 Priority Mail.
