This is an amazing old MASONIC KNIGHTS TEMPLAR SWORD and scabbard. It was made by a master sword maker, E. A. Armstrong Mfg, 300 Wabash aveChicago. This dates the age to the late 1800’s. The name on the sword and scabbard is Edson M Romley. The sword is 36 inches long and 5 inches wide at the guard. The blade is 28 inches long. This is a nice quality sword for the age of about 125 years old. Keep in mind there is signs of ware and use as expected for the age. The condition is as follows: The sword handle is solid, black in color with a silver cross.The guard and pommel connected with a chain and are in good shape and tight. They aresilver in color with a nice patina. Please see the pictures. The blade is cleanwith agold wash. The scabbard is included with nice patina and red inlay cross and blue crown. The scabbard is also adorned with a scrimshaw design and the owners name. Thereare age spots typical for a sword of this age.Overall this is a beautiful sword. It displays very well.
