This fine WW2 Nichols combat knife has an Alfred Cornish sheath. This knife would make an important addition to any U.S. or world militaria collection.

This is an early Nichols fighting knife--it has the flat, straight handle, and the rounded \'NICHOLS\'-stamped pommel. Later versions of Nichols\' knives had a Buffalo nickel imbedded in the pommel. This fine Nichols fighting knife was made for the soldier, \'USA JAMES BLACKSTONE DAVID CITY: NEBRASKA.\', and is so marked on the guard. This knife still has its original leather wrist thong.This knife has a 7 13/16\" blade. This knife measures 12 1/16\" overall.
The sheath is an unmarked, confirmed Alfred E. Cornish sheath.
CONDITION:
The blade has finish scratches from sharpening. There is some super light pitting along the blade spine. As can be seen in the photos, one side of the leather wrist thong is broken. The photos were taken in the way the were though, because when displayed, the knife--and wrist thong--look great. The wrist thong is nice to have--it\'s usually the first thing to go on a Nichols. The Cornish sheath rates a 9 out of 10 on the condition scale.
