This hand crank Australian made siren is operated by turning the handle and the soundmade isthe same as the old klaxon horns that have been in use from the early 1900's
The siren sound like a chook being strangled,
As far back as WW2 these sirens were used as fixtures ontrucks, motorcycle sidecars as well as fire engines etc, this unitis the hand held type with the handle that was used by firemen and fire wardens to run through burning buildings winding the siren to alert people to get out.
These sirens were used up untill 20 years ago in factorys and other buildings with no built in fireprotection.
This siren operated well and is ideal as a collectable or use at sporting venues.
Thanks for looking.
