From New England manufacturer Van Cort Instruments comes this museum/heirloom quality brass telescope. Part of the Tanglewood Telescope family, built in the late 1990\'s, this example is modeled after the maritime telescopes of the 18th and 19th century. It is exceptionally heavy and well built, completely manufactured with solid brass, including all fittings. It feels like it will outlast us all by 1000 years or more : ). This particular model was designed for either a desk top mount or a floor standing mount. All components are included to enable the desk top mount, including the brass legs (shown in first photo). All of the necessary brass fittings are also included to allow a floor standing mount (but no floor standing tripod is included). The telescope and all fittings are in excellent condition, with only brass discoloration resulting from time-passed. The optics are flawless. I have chosen not to clean the brass as the antique look is hard to duplicate. The telescope measures 28\" long when fully extended. It will ship in two separate boxes - one for the main telescope and most fittings, and a separate one for the brass desk mount (which was originally provided by Van Cort separately).
