This is a beautiful example of a British Naval Dirk Dagger Short Sword which dates from the early 20th Century. It is mounted with a lovely etched blade that measures 17 7/8 inches in length. The blade remains in wonderful original condition with gorgeous etching still present on either side which includes the cypher of King George VII on one side. It wears a softly sweeping S-shaped crossguard with acorn finials and an impressive lion\'s head pommel with detailed backstrap. The hilt is rayskin covered and remains very healthy with its original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. The leather scabbard wears very nicely detailed brass fitted and also remains very healthy and with the stitching still tightly intact. This Naval Dagger also continues to wear its original Sword Knot Portepee which has survived in beautiful condition as well. Overall measuring 23 3/4 inches in length.
