<img rare, 14\" tall, very hard to find, c.1870, 1st Period, FRENCH antique (unglazed) bisque shoulderhead, fashion-type dollfigure of a gentleman incised:1 on the back with closed mouth and molded eyelids, painted blue eyes, very wellmolded and painted brown hair with no centerpart and lots offine brush marks all around the hairline andblushed cheeks. He is still on his original, commercially made, fine cloth body with original leather lower arms and finely detailedhands. He has been expertly costumed in a light brown, fittedwoolen suit with long coattails (few moth holes), a watered silk vest with buttons and white shirt with tie, collar and lace details as well as brown leather shoes. He has old damage to his head as shown which looks to have been repaired long ago and needs further repair to conceal the cracks (the shoulder head has never been glued to his body but rather sewn on, which should make restoration easier). There has not been any repainting and he has no stains or fading and no odors ashe is from a smoke free home.Antique male fashion dolls are extremely hard to find and he will certainly make a wonderful companion to your other lady dolls of this era.(loc 15)Please note: nearly all of our items are antique or vintage (usually with some signs ofwear due to usage and previous storage).
