COMPLETE W/KEYTHIS FIRE ALARM BOX IS FROM NEWARK, NJTHIS IS A RARE FIRE ALARM BOX FOR MANY REASONS AS IT HAS A RICH HISTORY. THIS IS A HOOK ALARM BOX WHICH IS THE EARLIEST GAMEWELL FIRE ALARM BOX MADE.ITS AN ORIGINAL FIRE ALARM BOX THAT WAS GIFTED TO A MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY THAT WAS A FIRE FIGHTER AND RETIRED AS FIRE CHIEF WHO EXPERIENCED AND ENDURED THE NEWARK RIOTS. THERE IS GRAFFITI ON THE BOX WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS PUT THERE DURING THE RIOTS IN 1967. THIS FIRE ALARM BOX SURVIVED THE GREAT DEPRESSION, WITNESSED INFAMOUS MOB BOSS DUTCH SHULTZ KILLED AT THE LOCAL PALACE BAR IN 1935 AND SAW BILLIE HOLIDAY FREQUENT THE COLEMAN HOTEL.
