Description1827 pattern Royal Navy officer’s sword however the presences of oak leaves on the scabbard fittings show it to be for a flag officer, basically a rear-admiral or higher. The sword was retailed by Gillott and Hatell London, the proof mark is detailed in Swords for Sea service but is not identified. The blade is well engraved with Royal crest, the RN anchor and Victorian crown complete with brass mounted leather scabbard
