Victorian Mdm. McCabe\'s Black Cotton Coutil Cording Gussets S Bend Corset

This antique Victorian era Madame McCabe\'s black cotton coutil cording gussets S bend corset dates from 1887. It is made of a black cotton coutil fabric, with cording and gussets. This sensational sensible sanative S-bend style corset has a curved front steel busk with hook closures, contrasting brown quilted stitching along the cording and gussets, brown elastic straps on the back, metal eyelets along the bottom, steel boned stays sewn inside, fully lined and the original brown corset string lacing closure on back. It is stamped inside \"Mdm. McCabe\'s Corset Pat. Mar. 14, 82 & Oct. 25, 87\" label size 29. This style of corset was a popular \"Gibson Girl\" look with a pouter pigeon front, giving the woman\'s figure the silhouette of the letter S. The corset is a larger size measuring 14 inches long, with a 34 inch underbust, a 29 inch waist and 36 inch hips. It is in good as-is condition, with a mended repair on the front top and some rust stains on the inside lining along the steel boning (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful rare piece of wearable antique corsetry lingerie art!
