Vintage 10\" Wet Stone W/Motor Rock Lapidary Grinder Prairie Tool G7:
$22.50

Please read entire description before offerding. This is a 10\" wet grindstone made by the Prairie Tool Co. Of Prairie du Chien, WI. In 2001. It comes with the motor pictured. It was mounted to a bench and it is in working order. The company went out of business so I don\'t think you can buy any new grinding wheels for this unit. The wheel that is on the unit is a medium grit wheel 10\" X 1 1/2\" with a 1/2\" arbor hole. This wheel is built with the arbor installed so you would have to buy a new arbor to install a replacement wheel. The company sold replacement precision center arbors and replacement wheels but went out of business in about 2002. Maybe you can find out who has their remaining inventory and purchase a wheel and arbor when this one wears out or maybe you can make some other 10\" wheel fit the 1/2\" shaft. The wheel comes off easily with one set screw. The grinding wheel that is on this wet grinder is running out of round. Radial (up & down) run out is .030\". Lateral (side to side) run out is .065\" at outside diameter. The 1/2\" arbor shaft runs true and has minimal play in the aluminum housing. The problem with the wheel is that the poured lead & steel fixed arbor is not running true. This unit would be OK for rock grinding as it is but not for sharpening wood plane blades or anything else precision. If you don\'t need the motor and want the just the grinder I can save you 10 lbs on the shipping cost. (32 lbs instead of 42 lbs)
