This corset is truly a rare and wonderful find for the serious collector of vintage lingerie. It was custom designed and made to order by Spencer in New Haven, Connecticut, USA . The company made the corsets to the customer\'s individual design and specification. This one is lighter and less bulky than most corsets of the era. It laces up the front and does not have any buckles, hooks or zippers. It does have stays and elastic inserts on each side. It is accented with a lacy trim around the waist. It has four attached garters with fisheye metal fasteners with rubber nubs. From center, it is about 12\" long and it will fit a 24\" waist, laced up and can be loosened to add a few inches. It has no size or fabric tag, but is small and looks to be a rayon weave. Remarkably, there are no rips, tears, holes, stains,rust, or musty odors. It has no signs of wear and has been well preserved. Although nearly a Century old, it is still in very good wearable condition if you choose to wear it. It would also make a great display item.
