VINTAGE 1938 FAIRBANKS MORSE ART DECO RADIO 6AT4 WOODEN TABLE TOP TO RESTORE:

Please scroll downunder this description for additional views. Please email with anyquestions. Circa 1938 Fairbanks Morse model 6AT4 table top radio with 6A chassis, 20\"W x 12\"H x 11\"D nice wooden case with inlay horizontal stripe across the front. Plugged it in and it does light up on the dial and turning the band knob different parts of the dial will light up. The tuning knob is not working because belt is broken and we got no static or noise when we turned it on and could not turn to a station. Great-looking dial with metal bezel and convex clear plastic cover. Four bakelite dials are original, missing the \"Magic eye\" at least eye tube is present but missing part of its tip (see closeups) so I don\'t think its working and the glass cover for the eye tube that goes on the front of the wooden case is missing. Grille cloth original and in good condition, two of the vertical wood trim pieces missing and some loss to the bottom of one of the remaining two. Could be missing a tube in the back according to the illustration , Finish original with wear and scratches but nice veneer and the bottom molding intact on all sides. This is a very substantial looking radio- just enough Art Deco design to appeal to the taste of the consumer in the late 1930\'s that still looks very cool today and worthy of a restoration.
