You are looking at an absolutely gorgeous early Astatic T-3 crystal microphone manufactured by The Astatic Corporation during the 1950\'s with riveted Astatic label.
Don\'t be fooled by other sellers on . If the Astatic badge is glued on then it\'s and newer. If the badge is riveted on then it\'s 1950\'s era. And there is no such thing as a 1940\'s era T-3. Buyers beware!
As you can see in the pictures provided this T-3 micis in original condition and has almost no wear. The chrome finish glows like few I have ever seen and even the mesh screen is perfect. The Astatic label looks new and all 3 original screws holding the grill in place are still present..
The original crystal element had given up on life as it no longer works but these elements can be easily replaced as I have done quite a few conversions myself. Original element is still present inside the housing. This piece however would make an ideal display piece in any vintage microphone collection.The threads for the stand are in perfect condition. You\'ll notice this mic comes with an Astatic F-11 adapter however it like the mic is non-working. The F-11 will allow you to mount the mic to any American mic stand.
I would rate the true cosmetic condition of the mic a 9 on a scale of 1- 10. if all you are looking for is a truly beautiful early T-3 in which to repair or display...this is the one.
