Vintage1953 Westclox Moonbeam Alarm Clock

“Firsthe blinks, then he rings” was the logo for this model, this onebeing no exception. Once the time reaches the alarm setting the 25watt bulb blinks for approximately 5 minutes to gently awaken. If youdo not turn it off it begins to make an annoying buzzing ring.

Themechanism still runs quietly and smoothly, keeping perfect time. Theproper (and possibly still original) 25 watt bulb works fine. Themechanism is stamped on the back for January 14 1953, andmanufactured by General Time Instruments Corporation. Made in USA.The paper dial is marked WESTCLOX and Made By Western Clock CompanyPeterborough Canada.

Measurements:

6 ½inches wide, 5 inches tall, 2 ¼ inches deep. Weight 1 lb 12 oz.

Condition:

There isno rust or corrosion. There is some discoloration of the plating onthe base (shown). There is a small crack in the casing top back andresidue of a previous owners name on the top of the body. Theoriginal paper dial still retains all its color and lettering but isnot perfect. The only issue I have with this clock is, although thelight and alarm go off at the proper setting, the alarm will alsoactivate at other times that it is not set for.
