This is a vintage bicycle, and it rides really nice. Mostbike built by Schwinn in the 50’s and 60\'s were and are great bikes, and it willlast another 63 years if you take care of it. It looks pretty good, andit is mechanically more sound then most new bicycles.
Here is what I did to it: Was completely taken apart, paintedthe frame, put original Schwinn Decals on it, cleaned and polished all parts aswell as I could, new fenders, brakes, pads, tires tubes, had original seatrecovered, and all bearings have been greased.
This was not a $2,500 restoration like you see on TV, but itis a good looking 63 year old bicycle. The wheels are the original S2 Schwinnwheels, and they are stamped S2. I did clean them, but they look far from new. They are good mechanically, but not pretty (please see pics). The frame andchain guard have some pitting, but the primer and paint did a good jobsmoothing it (please see pics). Again, not a $2,500 restoration. Please see thepictures because what you see is what you get.
A super cool not perfect 1955 Schwinn Jaguar that is prettyrare because they only made the balloon tire Jaguar in 1954 and 1955, and thatwas it. Not many around, and I have only seen 1 or 2 for sale on in thelast few years that were listed at $750. I saw the original recovered seat sellon for over $500.
Selling as is where is. Thanks for looking.
