This is one of the most attractive of all AK bayonets. The brightly-colored plastic is often referred to as Bakelite, although it is a modern polymer.

This was manufactured at the famous Izhmash (Izhevsk) arsenal. Blades is in perfect condition. It is obvious it has never been used to cut anything. Scabbard and knife has forced matched serial numbers. Izhmash arsenal marks are on the scabbard also might havearsenal markthe inside metal part of the bayonet handle. Light ink stamp on the scabbard. These have the wire cutter integrated into the blade and scabbard. This one comes with a leather hand strap and leather belt hanger.

USSR Soviet (Russian)issued this for all their AK series regardless of caliber.The biggest advantage these have is they have a heavy rear bolster (metal butt) so you can hammer with them without doing heavy damage to the knife. The first pattern AK bayonets lacked. USSR Soviet (Russian)bayonets will fit any AK with a bayonet lug. These have the \"sawback\" blade and the scabbard joins with the blade to be a wire cutter.The army issue AK47 bayonet is pretty tough. These fine quality blades are drop-forged from the best high carbon steel for easy sharpening and superior edge-holding ability. The handle is not ordinary plastic. Even with the bakelite like handles, they are very rugged. The blade is sharp and the handle is made of AG-S4 molding compound (a glass-reinforced phenol-formaldehyde binder impregnated composite), assembled using an epoxy resin adhesive. Noted for their durability.The blade is still covered protective grease. Matching serial numbers. It also works as a great survival knife! Very nice bayonet! Good quality materials, and very well made. The wire cutter (when used with scabbard) operates clean and smooth, unlike many other bayonets I have tried.The AK47 bayonet was first and foremost designed to be a compact electrically insulated wire-cutter with an efficient piercing/thrusting capability. The scabbard is made from the hard black plastic and carbon steel. Might have the plastic and painted parts are coated in a clear lacquer.

Brand New old stock may show slight signs of shelf wear or handling. The parts may have little scratches from storage but they are in excellent condition and ready for use!Fits all AKs with T-lug on gas block or front sight block. Comes complete with wire cutter, scabbard, and leather strap.These are not demilitarized by destroying the ring, blade or any thing else. Since, I have more than one for sale you will not receive the one on the pictures but a similar or better one.Please Note: This is surplus bayonets color and manufacture marking varies.May have light surface wear from military storage and numbering, some marring on the synthetic handle or scabbard from handling.
