Old wood and coal stoves, including cylinder, parlor, and other stovesoften had a finial, like this one,sitting on top of them....
Stove top finial\'s had little function except as a decoration...More often than not theywould cover an eye plate on the stove, and were put aside during stove operation, as they were just simply in the way......
This, very ornate, old finial here is a nice one.....
It measure\'s 8 1/4\" round and stands 10\" tall.....
This is a great find....its fully intact and has a nice, warm patina.....
