Vintage Antique Five String Banjo with Fancy Inlays:
$212.50

This is a Vintage/Antique open back five string banjo in as-found condition. It has 38 sets of hex shoes and hooks, and an original tailpiece assembly that can be used with looped orknotted strings, The hooks are of the \"flat\" variety and all match well, but there is some variety in the nuts. The skin head is very soiled but tight and without holes, The rim is maple and spunover with plated brass. The fingerboard is missing some ebony veneer, but the fancy inlayed ivoroid markers are all there. There is a bone nut and tuners that function. I have seen nearly identical banjos sold under the \"Bruno\" and \"Supertone\" brand names but I can find no label on this one. The neck is maple. Although \"1890\" is written in pencil on the inside of the head, I do not beleive this banjo is that old; my guess is 1920\'s. The banjo is attractive and can be played as is, but is dirty and could use some restoration. Overall elngth is 36-1/2\", skin head is 10-1/2\" across, approx. 25.75\" scale, 2-1/2\" deep. Please ask any question you have before offerding. No case so I will pack it carefully. Thanks for reading to the end of the description.
