Up for sale is an excellent Antique/Vintage barn pulley. As you can see from the pics it is in very good condition. This pulley is marked \"1178N\"on both sides. The pulley hook is marked \"R1281PATD AUG 15 1916\" on one side & \"L1281\" on the other side of the hook. The metal wheel,marked \"335\"is in fine condition & has been restored to like new condition. Pulley has been cleaned, sanded, oiled, repaintedwith a very nice black metallic finish& detailed in gold on the raised lettering. (See all pictures). Fully functional & ready for use or display.
This type of pulley was often times used asahay unloader in the top area of a barn. When hay was harvested & baled, the wagons would be pulled into the barn & then each bale was hoisted with the aid of these pulley up into the hay mow. Storing the hay in the top of the barnwouldensure that it was kept dry (as well as fresh) for livestock feeding until the next hay harvesting season.
