The sewing machine was manufactured by the National Sewing Machine Company the last year of production for this model, which was in 1954. The machine itself is an all-metalconstruction that is very durable (and heavy). This 115 V - 9 W. machine appears to be able to be converted to either A.C. or D.C. power. The patent numbers listed for the sewing machine are: 1,711,792 and 2,001,966.

The sewing machine itself is in excellent exterior condition. It seems to have been well cared for by its previous owner. I bought this from an estate sale in the hopes that I would learn how to sew. That did not happen, and two years later I realize that this needs to be moved on to someone else who can use it. Because I do not personally sew, I have not been able to test this machine out and make sure it works. There is a cord running from the machine into a box inside the cabinet, but I cannot find a way to plug the box directly into a wall outlet. Because this machine is from way before my time, I have no idea how to convert the power to modern standards or how to power the machine on. It has been suggested to me that the sewing machine may be set up to bemanually powered. Again, I do not know how to test this theory out. Hopefully you will know how to do this.
The sewing machine can be collapsed inside the cabinetfor storage. When the sewing machine is set up, one piece of the cabinet extends out to the left to form a work table for ease of sewing larger projects. The cabinet has the model F 45 N5-3682 stampedunderneath the lip the sewing machine sets on top of when it is set up.
A pull-out bench has a hinged seat for storage of the attachments and other sewing supplies. The bench seat is upholstered in a green vinyl \"fabric,\" which may not have been original. A tag is attached to the seat says Montgomery Ward and has the dates July 1926-District of Columbia, Kansas 1923, and April 24, 1929-Minnesota.
Because I am not the machine\'s original owner, I cannot give you any information about the history of the machine, how often it may have been serviced, etc. The pictures of the machinewe\'re taken in my front yard and I have edited out the background for privacy reasons. What you see in the pictures is what you will get. Please note that I have no idea if emblems are right side up, if the cabinet the machine is inside is original, etc.
