Vintage Cast IronLiberty Bell Replica RadioMade in Japan~:~This is a beautifully detailed solid cast iron working replica of the historic Liberty Bell. The bell is mounted on a 6 1/4\" wide x 4\" deep x 1 7/8\" tall black plastic radio base with gold trim. The radio speaker is under the base and the volume control wheel and the channel selector wheel are on each side of the base. (Radio requires one 9v battery to operate, not included) On top of the base, under the bell is a gold square engraved metal plaque that reads:
\"The crown of this bellin Independence Hall,Philadelphia bears theinscription of \"PROCLAIMLIBERTY THROUGHOUTALL THE LAND UNTO ALLTHE INHABITANTS THEROF\".This cracked in 1835 whentollingthe death of Chief Justice Marshall.\"
This is a vintage pre-owned item that is in very good working condition. The plastic base has some hazing in the finish due to the age of the item but the radio works perfectly with a 9v battery, not included. The cast iron bell unit is in excellent condition.
