This is a cool vintage 50 watt 1950\'s Tube Amp by Catalina. Model 40s. It\'s in nice condition for its age. It has an interesting pulsating \'glow lamp\' on the front panel which is used to balance the speakers. The wood cabinet fine although it could use a cleaning. Most importantly, it powers up and works. I played a full CD (approx 45 minutes) and it sounded great although I\'m selling it \'as-is\' due to its age. I also have the original 3 page manual which has the specs etc. This seems to be a rare amp...there\'s very little on the internet about it. As I said, it works fine, but here are the issues I see:1- All of the lettering on the front panel is missing (rubbed off).... I guess the original owner cleaned the front with something that removed the lettering, but the manual does have a picture and description of all the knobs and switches.2- When the loudness switch is turned on, one of the channels bass gets distorted, but the problem goes away when the loudness is switched off. I\'m thinking a tube (or tubes) may be bad since they are VERY old tubes.3- When moving some of the controls there is popping and crackling....so I\'m thinking the switches could use some electronic spray cleaner to fix thatAs I said, the amp plays fine and sounds great other than what is mentioned above.Feel free to ask any questions....
