Sophisticated drinkers once \"charged\" their water by adding carbon dioxide to tap water inpressurizedseltzer bottles. This one dates to, probably, the 1920\'s. The pewter looking metal top has a fitted collar that screws tightly to the green glass bottle. The top is stamped \"Ets Cirier-Pavard Paris Conforme A Lalci\" and \"Etg Bavard & Salveton Chantilly\". The bottle is etched \"Establissements Bavard & Salveton Chantilly\" and in tiny letters \"Cirier - Pavard Paris\". The bright green glass looks like it might glow in the dark. This assembled seltzer bottle measures 12 7/8\" tall, 4\" in diameter and weighs 4 pounds.
I believe it is in excellent condition for it\'s age and use. The green glass has lines and bubblesconsistentwith it\'s age. I found no cracks or chips on the glass. I\'m not sure how the top works but it came apart and assembled easily. It could be polished if you don\'t love the patina. Please view my photographs for more description. My vintage collector friend is starting to part with some of her treasures. The bottom of this bottle has part of the price tag from her purchase decades ago.
