I bought this item new in the early 1980s. Although it is an \"All Weather\" and \"Weatherproof\" detector, it was mounted inside the car above the sun visor when traveling and stored in a pouch in the console when not in use.It was advertised as \"Weatherproof\" and intended to be mounted under the hood, or, in the grille of a vehicle.In the photos you can see the \"extension cord\" to connect the sensor to the console.It was in working condition when I placed into storage when I sold that car (1988) and has been in a climate-controlled environment since then.Sold as is, no warranties expressed or implied.As you can see in the photos, it was NOT exposed to the elements.
