I am thinking that the case is made from some type of plastic resin!! There is a noise coming from the electric motor... it will have to be evaluated, repaired or replaced... a qualified clock repairman should be able to help in this endeavor!
If you are a self help person, you can try and lubricate the motor/pendulum gears or if that is not possible... order a replacement battery operated ‘’pendulum movement’’ on line... though some changes might have to be made, think about the case’s thickness with regards to the ‘’movement’s hand shaft’’ length and diameter to properly fit the hand shaft hole in the case... and do not forget about the ‘’clock hands’’, their style, type and size, these things all need to be considered for picking out the correct size replacement movement... one more thing to keep in mind is the ‘’pendulum rod’’, it’s length and the attachment of the ‘’Frostie pendulum bob’’... which by the way looks like it is currently held onto the rod with using a adhesive pad!
Selling this clock as is as found, in used condition it is currently running with some noise coming from the electric motor, it was keeping decent time, I test ran it for only one hour, I am suggesting that it’s movement is in need of repair or replacement! Sorry but we do not accept returns!
