This sale is for a vintage G. Leblanc \"Symphonie\" model Bb soprano clarinet. The Symphonie model was one of Leblanc\'s most popular professional line clarinets. I\'m not sure how old this one is, but the serial number looks like 992A (it\'s hard to read). This instrument is not currently playable and is being sold as is for parts or restoration. It is complete, but it will need a full restoration to be made playable. Please note that it comes with two barrels. One of them is the original barrel, but it is cracked. The other one is an unmarked wood barrel that is in good condition. The bell has what looks like a very tight hairline crack, but I don\'t think it poses much of a risk of spreading. The upper joint looks to have had a minor crack pinned at some point. There are no other cracks in the main joints. The tenons are free of chips. All keys are present, undamaged, and moving freely. The tenon ring on the lower joint is nice and tight. The rings on the bell are slightly loose, but that is probably mostly due to the dry winter air. Once it is properly oiled I would guess they will snug up, and if not, at least the tenon ring can be easily shimmed tight. This instrument comes in a vintage tweed case, but it is in pretty poor condition. It is pretty worn and ratty inside. One of the latches is missing and the other one isn\'t really functioning properly. If you\'d rather not have it I can just pack the clarinet in bubble wrap. That might cut down the shipping cost a little, especially for overseas buyers. There is no mouthpiece/ligature/etc.This should be a nice instrument with a proper restoration. These can easily go for upwards of $1000 once restored.
