When air travel became affordable, this slim-size Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe was the answer to the demand for smarter, lighter luggage. Measuring 35\" tall, 22\" wide and 11 1/2\" deep, it\'s the perfect size for those short business trips or weekend excursions. Covered with beautiful cream-colored vellum, the exterior features protective tan edge guards, brass corner fittings, and original latches. The fold-out front reveals hanging hardware with original wood hangers, a presser bar, and a cloth curtain for keeping garments dirt-free. Several compartments and canvas straps hold folded clothes in place. The original \"Gibraltarized\" tag refers to this piece\'s amazing method of construction. The reinforcing framework bears the same relationship to the trunk as does the steel framework to a modern skyscraper. Nails are secured in an oblique direction making it impossible for them to work loose and thus add to the strength of the trunk.
Circa 1930\'s, this Hartmann Tourobe is in good condition with minor surface wear appropriate to its age. The interior is clean and has no musty smell. Both leather handles are intact, although one does show wear. It bears an original Hartmann Tourobe tag. This is an amazing piece for either travel or decorative purposes. Viewing luggage as a fashion accessory, Hartmann has prided itself on crafting the finest luggage and leather goods throughout its 137 year history. Please enlarge all photos for maximum viewing.
