This guitar started its life as a 1963 Martin 000-28C classical guitar, but someone decided to try to reglue the bridge with nonexpanding window foam. The result: three mammoth top cracks, a poorly glued bridge surrounded by a huge mess. BUT, the back and sides were near perfect. So, I sent it to John Greven([link removed by ]) to retop it for steel with internal specs accurate to that of a 1929\'ish 12 fret 000 while the cosmetics specs were taken from Martin\'s lone 000-40 built in 1909(sans pickguard). The result is a gorgeous 000 12 fret Brazilian Rosewood that is vey lightweight and has the kind of vintage, bell-like tone you\'d want to hear from a guitar like this. Very balanced, rich, warm tone - more open than you\'d think with a newer top. You can feel it in your chest when you play it. John knows how to voice a box and this one is evidence of that.
