Vintage Montgomery Ward 22\" 3-Speed Metal Box FanWood Grain Housing

ConditionI recently purchased this at a yard sale and could not believe how beautiful the condition of it was. It has an all metal simulated wood grain housing that was free from any rust, dents, and even almost free from any scratches.
FunctionalityThe fan is fully functional on all 3 speeds and has quite a powerful output on it\'s top speed.
RefurbishedI fully broke the fan down and cleaned both sides of the fan blade, the entire interior of the metal housing box, all around the motor including the air vents, and both sides of the metal and plastic grates.
ConstructionThe wood grain simulated housing is made of metal as well as the white wire grate. The fan blade, yellow grate, and speed control knob are made of plastic.
Cracked GrateAs I was in the last step of cleaning all the separate parts, I accidentally cracked the yellow plastic grate while air drying it. (I could have cried after finding this near perfect vintage fan and then having this happen). After washing it, I took it outside to wave off the excess water by moving it back and forth, and while holding both sides of it a piece of it snapped off. Luckily it was almost entirely a clean break with only a few very tiny chips in the plastic coming off primarily on the backside, facing inside towards the fan blade.
RepairedI wanted to make sure that it was sealed back together properly so I went to Harbor Freight and purchased 24 - 7/8\" small plastic clamps which were clamped on immediately after applying Super Glue up and down the entire crack. Almost each and every block had their own clamp applying pressure both vertically and horizontally to ensure a solid fused connection since it was impossible to pinch together each and every spot simultaneously.
ResultsThe two pieces fused together nicely thanks to a very repairable break. There should never be any issues with the structural integrity of the grate.
NoticeabilityThe break does not stand out at all. My wife was standing above me while I was on the floor working on it right after I had snapped it back together before Super Glueing it, and said she could not even see where it had separated. If you view the first photo, you\'ll need to zoom in on the photo to see where it is located. I don\'t believe anyone will even notice that a crack line is present, but knowing that it is there and looking for it, you can see it.
Final RemarksWhat should have taken about 90 minutes to break down and properly clean the fan from the inside out ended up taking 4-5 hours worth of work, not including creating this listing which has taken a lot of time. Because of the great condition it was in, I felt it was worth taking the time to get it back to how it had been originally. It is not perfect anymore, but it is difficult to see that it had been damaged at all. I have obviously tried to be up front, honest, and thorough in describing the cracked grate, and believe this is still a vintage fan that\'s in great condition, is quite powerful, and that you\'ll be very happy with.
