Up for sale is this very beautiful “Forest Fire” motionlamp (1948), by Ignition Company.Ignition Company was located in Omaha, Nebraska (see photo). To myknowledge, they only made two motion lamps.This is one of them. I think theother might have been a Niagara Falls one.I am not really sure.

The lamp isso beautiful and it is in such very good condition for a 64 year old lamp. It still has its original light bulb withsome wear. The spinner has a small dent at the top and a small separation. Still, in very good condition. The shade has one minor scratch (not surereally, it could be part of the art work) very insignificant. There are a few crease lines, again, veryinsignificant. It is very hard to noticethem. I had to use a magnifying glass. Ihad the cord changed for safety purposes and because I wanted it displayedhigh, so the cord is very long. Thelight has been lit for many, many years.It lights up perfectly, but for some reason, I have never been able toget the spinner to spin. I am sure withthe knowledge of motion lamps, patience and a little fiddling, you could get itto spin. It never mattered to me or to my Great Aunt who gave it to me. The light is bright and serene and alwaysmade me feel at peace.

From what Iunderstand, this lamp is very rare.There were not very many made and for this reason, they are very, veryhard to find especially in this condition.The lamp measures approximately 8” tall x 15” around the base. All in all, this is a fabulous motion lamp invery good condition. The base and topare metal.
