I don't know a lot about cash registers, but after a bit of Google research, I'm going to describe this register as thoroughly as I can.
Please look at the photos, and email me if you have any questions or if I mis-described anything. This is a National Cash Register Model 711, Serial Number 2169801. It has dark brown wrinkle finish paint almost everywhere,
although the front panel above the keys and the very top cover have chrome (albeit corroded) detail stripes on them. The white glass till
has no apparent chips or cracks. The face of the $1 key is missing, and the 50 cent key face has cracks and a small piece missing.
All glass and plastic pieces are present and intact. From what I can tell, the register seems to function properly - all keys raise the numbers
and the drawer opens. There is only one lock key - on the inside front panel as seen in photo #8. I was able to open the side cover by
poking up from below with the base removed (I taped over the latch hook so the side opens without the key). The front face of the base
has two little holes where there probably was an NCR name plate (I've seen some in Google images), but there is no plate there.
The register is very well used, as you can see from all of the wear on the cash drawer wood. I've included a photo (#11) of the information
card on the underside of the drawer, but it is mostly illegible. The register is 10-3/8" wide at the base and about 12-5/8" wide over the paper roll handle. It is 16-1/4" deep and 17" high.
It weighs a whopping 66 pounds, and I will pack it very securely. I've put in shipping costs using UPS ground but will ship FedEx Ground.
It won't be cheap, but it should be fair. I am selling this guy As Is, because I am not qualified to attest to the functionality of it. Please bit accordingly. There is a used roll of tally paper and a really ratty ribbon loop that I'll send along with the register. Thanks for looking.
