Parting out a pair of fully working vintage Pioneer HPM-40 speakers. Cabinets and grills were rough and cost prohibitive for me to ship complete so decided to let parts go to those who might just need spares or a replacement part or parts. Functionally they were fine and have used them in the past but just have too many speakers that I never get around to listening to and need to start thinning the herd. I am going to offer the drivers individually in case some only want or need one as a replacement but will list both at same time and then if someone wants the pair and wins both sales, I will be glad to combine ship to help on shipping cost.
This sale is for one of the woofers. This is one of the more desirable earlier woofers that had the pleated and treated cloth surround rather than the later foam ones that would need replacing by now. Stamped on back of magnet 25-737A 27828 In good working condition. There is some lint and dust stuck to the surrounds as the coating is a bit sticky. The 4th photo is taken with a strong backlight so that makes the surrounds look like they do in that photo. I will leave it to new owner as to whether they want to clean the surrounds a bit or recoat them with sealant. They sound good as they are. Also, notice there are couple little darker discoloration bands or spots on the cone right next to the surround in one spot. Don\'t know if something got spilled on it there or if is overflow from the glue or coating material. Again, just cosmetic and doesn\'t affect performance. Actual DCR reading I get is ajust over 5 Ohms. Includes the original mounting screws but if you are going to be using in some application other than going back into some HPM 40 cabinets you can use any regular screws but the ones with it are the threaded bolts that go into the receiving threaded back piece in back side of the baffle. One last item, due to weight and nature of used electronics like this, I will not be shipping this item internationally. Only US shipping addresses please. Thank you.
