Fresh out of a barn in Maine is this decoy that is a rendition of what I believe to be a Goldeneye duck. I was told by a couple of reputable sources that this was almost certainly carved by one of the Quebec carvers, as the detail in the wings is very distinct. Head is very well carved. This is not signed anywhere that I can see. Measures 12 ½” long x 7” tall x 6” wide. It appears to have it’s original paint which has worn in a couple of places, and has a great patina overall. Condition is very good, with just a small chip under the bill, and the neck is slightly loose, but not broken. Not bad for a working decoy though. This would make a fine addition to any collection!
