Vintage Rare Eric O\'Leary Pottery With Lid Signed 1960\'s Hand-Thrown:
$650.00

Rare hand-thrown vintage pottery by the internationally acclaimed ceramic artist Eric O\'Leary.  His father, Jack O\'Leary (1918-1982), started the Tariki Studios in NH.  Eric has continued the tradition and his work is in the permanent collections of New Britain (CT) Museum of American Art, the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA, and the American Decorative Arts & Sculpture Collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.  Eric made this pot in the 1960\'s when he was just a boy and learning to throw pots under his father Jack\'s guidance.  Eric\'s work now appears around the world.  His Tariki Studio is well known. You can research it. This is one of his very early pieces.  The O\'Leary\'s were friends of my family in the 1960\'s and this pot was given to us by Eric in the late 1960\'s. The pot stands approx. 6\" tall.  It is in very good condition with some age wear.  There is a very minor line through the glaze on the top, not really a crack and it is only on the surface.  I do not believe it goes all the way through.  This most probably happened in production when it was fired.
