Vintage - Refurbished WEBER \"Kalahatch 400\" Cast Alum. 3.25\" Fly Reel Custom Spool
Solidly constructed cast aluminum fly reel with chrome plated steel oval line guide. Always on light click check drag located on the spool. Right-hand wind easily converts to left handed. Very useable. Takes a 4 to 6 line and goes with any vintage cane rod. The reel has been restored to a very good condition with a good click. It would make a prized addition to your vintage reel collection, or your \'go to\' backup reel.
The Weber Tackle Company is best known for making flies and lures. The company was located in Stevens Point, WI and was in business from 1888 to 1988. They marketed fly reels under their brand. The \"Kalahatch\" was made for Weber by Duncan Briggs of Providence, RI. This manufacturer was in business from 1948 and to 1955.
Please reference this reel\'s \'before\' picture. The reel came to us with a jerry rigged nut and bolt crank handle, severe loss of paint, and other mechanical and aesthetic issues. Those issues were addressed and repaired including installing an era appropriate crank handle. All surfaces were mechanically and chemically cleaned to remove old paint. All surfaces were repainted with multiple coats of primer and enamel. Additionally, the spool face was hand painted in a one-of-a-kind multi-color design creating a unique collectible opportunity. This reel is number 79 in my series of uniquely painted designs. The new owner will receive a signed COA confirming document. The reel was waxed and lubricated prior to packing.
