Up for sale is a VINTAGE ROYAL BRAND MAH JONGG 164 TILE SET by CRISLOID. The set is very complete but it appears the original handle on the case has been replaced.
This set comes with 5 RACKS, Approximately 125 MULTI-COLORED PLASTIC COINS, The CARRYING CASE, and TWO RED DICE in the DICE COMPARTMENT WITH the CRISLOID COVER.
The TILES appear to be smaller than other MAH JONGG sets I\'ve seen and I don\'t know what this means because the only MAH JONGG I play is on my computer. (I\'m told it\'s not the same?)
The tiles breakdown as 3 sets of 36 for coins, script and bamboo (I think that\'s what they are called.)There are 12 Dragons, 10 Big Jokers, 8 seasons, 8 Flowers, 16 Cardinal Directions and 2 Blank. There are 4 trays that hold all of the tiles and dice. The set comes with the little lid for the dice with the Crisloid name on it in script.The tiles are 1.25 inches long by 7/8 inch wide. From everything I\'ve read before Royal Depth began making sets Royal preceded them and these could be Catalin Tiles but I\'m just not certain because the racks appear to be a plastic other than Bakelite or Catalin. When I did the hot water test I thought I detected a feint FEINT smell of formaldehyde but I\'m just not sure. So keep that in mind when you place your offer I AM NOT selling this as a bakelite/catalin set.
