I hate to have to sell this, but I have to clear out some things. This unit was purchased by me off about 7 years ago. It has been serviced (see below) and in use at least 3 to 4 days a week in my office since. It sounds amazing and I really don\'t want to sell it. I do have the matching tuner, see my other sales. I\'m not into vinyl so I never used the Phono section. When selected it is quite though.
Ok, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, I know how Vintage Audio enthusiasts are about their stuff so here is the good and bad about this amplifier
The Good - This AU-717 has been completely recapped and de-glued. The 4 main filter caps were also replaced (see pictures) Every component that touched the corrosive glue was replaced. The fuse resistors were replaced with better metal film resistors. It has the original output transistors. There were several transistors that were replaced as a preventive measure because they tend to go noisy. At time of service the pots were also cleaned.
The Bad - It\'s not a cosmetic masterpiece by any means, It shows it\'s age (please see pictures). I would rate it a 6 or 7. The back panel has surface rust. The switches have groove marks on them from the previous owner, no idea how they got there (easily replaced if you can find some). The face plate has a couple of nicks, nothing major. One spot appears to have been touched up (see below muting switch, very small). The separated - connected switch needs cleaning again. On occasion it needs to be cycled because it gets noisy. Once you cycle it its fine for a couple of weeks. This is an easy fix, I just haven\'t had time to mess with it. The top panel was repainted (looks great actually, almost factory, see pics), but the tuner scuffed it a little. The pictures make it look worse than it really is. The balance knob has to be just slightly to the left of center for equal sound output. I never tried to figure out why, it could have been my speakers. The Bass knob needs to be tightened because it slides off. It requires a .5mm hex wrench and I can\'t locate mine or it would have been done already (simple fix, auto parts store has these for a few $$).
This unit is very heavy and it will be packaged accordingly and insured. I will guarantee this will arrive to you in the condition pictured. I\'ve shipped a lot of other heavy, delicate items like this before. Check my response.
