Vintage SANTINI ALL-CHAMBER PIANO ACCORDION
Excellent professional all-chamber model accordion made by the late Vincent Santini of Castofidarldo, Italy in 1965. Model: Reeds - Bassoon, Clarinet in Chamber, Piccolo out. This instrument produces the deep bottom, low end sound especially desired by jazz accordionists. Its unique double chamber in the bass produces high quality tone and volume. First grade, hand-finished reeds all located in a chamber. Bass reeds also located in a chamber. This is truly a wonderful sounding accordion.In February 2012, this accordion was refurbished by Ivo Baldoni of Baldoni Accordions in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin where the following work was performed on the instrument:
- Bellow back and bottom re-bound
- New chest pad
- Maintenance on both keyboards, cleaned and lubed
- New pair of 317 shoulder straps
- Repaired sticky master switch
- Re-attached loose piccolo reed
- 2 new bellow snaps
- Re-wired keyboard mics
Mr. Baldoni, who sells and repairs accordions for musicians all over the world, described this Santini accordion in this way:
"This is a Santini all-chamber model which even has a double chamber in the bass. The uniqueness of this is that they're much more expensive to do. It enhances the quality of the sound like the fine tuning of an instrument. Most accordions have a single chamber. The double chamber will always add more value because of the volume it produces and the quality of the tone. All of the reeds are in a chamber which is a very, very unique and costly endeavor.
