~Embroidered Kimono Robe~

I don\'t know much about Kimono,
in fact, I know close to nothing.
I do know that this Kimono is gorgeous!I don\'t know when this Kimono was made,
my guess is sometime after the 1950\'s.
This beautifulrobe has the classic Kimono shape and cut.
The robe is made of an ivory silk,
I\'ve heard it refered to as Pongee.

The Kimono has huge draping sleeve panels,
with just a small opening.
There is hand embroidery in multi-color thread,
of beautiful Japanese style clouds.
These clouds are scattered on the front of the robe.
The back is also accented with the clouds.
It is also very heavily embroidered with
a large scrolling Red Dragon.
I\'m not sure of the technique used to sew the dragon.
The dragon embroidery is 3 dimensional,
and really incredible!
The embroidery is done in all colors,
really vibrant and dramatic!
The robe is fully lined.I picture this over a pair of jeans and a bikini top,
but it can be paired in endless ways!
A great cover up for summer!

~Condition~

This vintage piece is in excellent to very good condition.
The fabric is very strong, no rips, tears, holes, or repairs.
There is a bit of dye transfer and bleeding, it seems it was the pink thread!
There is alsoquite a few spots here and there.
I don\'t think it\'s really a big deal,
makes this more of an actual wearable piece.
Garden in it, take it to the beach, it\'s ready!
I have not laundered this Kimono,
it is possible that some of these spots may come out.

I would recommend professional cleaning only

and careful storage.

A perfect garment for film andphoto shoots,

collections, bridal wear, study, honeymoons, festivals,
gifts, or just general wear.
